Live Cricket Score: India (IND) vs (PAK) Pakistan, World T20

Tuesday 18 March 2014

India VS Pakistan
DHAKA: While India will be taking on Sri Lanka in their first practice match at the Sher-E-Bangla National
Stadium in Mirpur on Monday, their arch-rivals Pakistan are scheduled to face New Zealand a bit earlier in the day at the same venue. However, there were hardly any questions asked about those games when players of both teams faced the media on Saturday.
All the queries were about the opening encounter of the Super 10 stage. The Friday Blockbuster — India vs Pakistan.

Pakistan have won just one of their five T20 clashes against India and they have never beaten India in eight clashes in the World Cup (5 in ODIS and 3 in T20s). India will be looking to maintain that record while Pakistan, arguably a better T20 side, will be looking to break that jinx. "We never look at that record and neither do we look at that game as a big one. It is just hyped up by all the people around it," feels India's star batsman Virat Kohli. Tell him about India's spotless record against Pakistan and he says, 'We will not go out there to keep that record intact. We will go and play good cricket and try not to get too desperate.'

MS Dhoni aims for unique record
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is seeking to become the first captain in international cricket history to hold all three ICC global event titles at the same time.
In 2007, he led India to victory by five runs over Pakistan at Johannesburg in the final of the inaugural ICC World Twenty20. Four years later he skippered his country to victory over Sri Lanka on home soil, at the Wankhede Stadium, in the final of the World Cup 2011.
This was India's second ICC CWC title following its shock victory over champion West Indies at Lord's in 1983.
Dhoni is one of three players - Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma being the others - who played in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 final and also India's most recent T20I against Australia in October 2013. One of the most memorable moments of the 2007 tournament was Yuvraj hitting England's Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over at Durban in the Group Stage.
In the three ICC World Twenty20 tournaments since 2007, India has not progressed beyond the Super Eight stage. As of the end of January, India was second to Sri Lanka in the ICC T20I Rankings and had won 25 and lost 19 of its 46 T20Is.
India had won 11 and lost six of those matches played in Asia. Yuvraj Singh was Man of the match in four of India's six most recent T20Is between October 2012 and October 2013.

Past performances at World T20
 2007 (South Africa) - Champions
 2009 (England) - Super Eight
2010 (West Indies) - Super Eight
2012 (Sri Lanka) - Super Eight

 Logo
On 6 April 2013, ICC unveiled the logo of the tournament at a gala event in Dhaka. The overall look of the logo design is primarily inspired by the unique Bangladesh tuktuk decoration art style. The logo uses the colours of the Bangladeshi flag with splashes of blue representing the country's rivers (also as being the ICC's own colour). The logo is also inspired by the rickshaws. The T is made up of cricket stumps and the '0' in the T20 represents the cricket ball complete with a green seam.
